Unlike wood, vinyl does not rot, splinter, or warp from moisture. It retains its color and shape much longer than wood, and requires little upkeep compared to the frequent painting, staining, or repairing of wood.

There is no difference between “vinyl fencing” and “PVC fencing” — they’re different terms for the same thing. PVC is polyvinyl chloride, which is combined with additives and formed into products like fencing, pipes, windows, and decking.
Technically, vinyl can refer to any plastic polymer made from vinyl chloride monomers. But in practice, when someone says “vinyl fencing,” they always mean PVC fencing.
